Finally a word from me. We have been away on a holiday for a week in Vestmannaeyjar visiting Rúnar’s (my DH’s family). We spent wonderful time there as always in beautiful weather and we all enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pictures from the trip.
First up there is a picture of the two islands called Bjarnarey and Elliðaey. The landscape around the islands is just breathtaking. We managed to see some puffins but I couldn’t get a decent photo of them.
Here is a picture of my girls. Friðbjörg Lilja (the one in blue), Hjálmfríður Bríet (black t-shirt) and Jóhanna Brynja (my youngest one). This picture is taken where houses are being dug up from the volcano eruption that took place in January 1973. It is really strange to see parts of the houses that got buried under a thick layer of ash.
Thsi is one of my favorite view from the islands. The big cliff is called Heimaklettur and there are some old building in Skansinn.
And another one of my girls. Looking a little tired from a walk to see the puffins.
I have also been stitching. One project that I can’t show you which is an exchange. This one is a replacement exchange that I stitched as the previous one got lost. I have finished and sent it away and I am crossing my fingers that it will have a safe journey this time.
I took part in a biscornu exchange at the Stitch and Stash forum. This patter is a freebie from Ink Circles Designs called Celtic Knot from September 2007. The pattern can be found here. I used up some scrap fabric and threads so not sure which one I have here. I stitched one side in reddish/brown colour and the other side in blue. Here is a picture.

And I stitched a RR piece for Wendy. This is part of the Stitch and Stash round robin that has been going around this year. This is a afghan with funny pictures. I loved stitching this one.

Now we are home for a short while. We are hoping to be able to go camping on friday but the weather forecast is not very promising. We’ll see how it goes.
Waving at you Edda, how lovely the pictures are, your girls are growing into beautiful young ladies.
What a shame about your 1st parcel getting lost, it does make me cross that the postal service dont take care of our packages after all the effort we put into them. Love your biscornu for the exch, well done.
Enjoy your camping weekend, i hope the weather is nice for you
