I came back home very late last night, the plane landed just before midnight and I wasn´t back home until around 2am. The trip was fantastic and I had so much fun and I´ve come back with so many precious memories that will be cherished forever.
I arrived in London around lunchtime on thursday and after checking into my hotel Ashley Hotel I went straight to Oxford Street to do some shopping. Some hours later I had a brand new wardrobe and was very happy about it. So back to the hotel I went and did a little bit of stitching before going to sleep. I finished Part 4 of the Ozark SAL 2007. Here is a picture.
The next day I did a little bit more shopping before leaving with the train from London to Hull. The train ride was fine and I was met by Jane at the station and we went to the hotel with a taxi. There we met the rest of the group apart from Janey Jane who came a little later. It was great to see everybody and we got settled into our rooms. Jane was my roomie for the weekend. Later in the afternoon we got together at Carol´s house for chineese food and chatting. We had brought with us either a finished item or a WIP for “Show and Tell” that evening.
Saturday and Sunday we had workshop from 9.30am until 17.00pm. Carol is a great teacher and she really challenged the group with what she offered to us. We worked on samplers and it was so lovely. Here is a picture of the work that I have done on mine. Can´t wait to see it when it is finished. We had some stash gifted to us from Jayne and Carol and there was a Raffle where everyone got some stash and we exchanged secret gifts. We went out for a fancy dinner on Saturday evening which was delicious. Here is a piece of my stitching over the weekend.
On Sunday evening it was time to say good-bye and leave for home. I and Jane shared a bus on the way to Selby due to engeneering work being done on the train tracks from Hull. And on I went with a train from Selby to London with the rain pouring down on the way. Arriving in London very late I went straight to the hotel and went to sleep shattered after the weekend.
Monday morning I woke up very early. Went for English Breakfast at the hotel and then off to do some more shopping. Walked up and down Oxford Street and went to Liberty and John Lewis to check out some stash, didn´t find any though. My flight back home was in the evening at 21.30pm.
Rúnar and the girls came to pick me up from the airport and even though the weekend was just fantastic it was soooooo good to see their faces and being able to hug and kiss them all again.
