We are camping again and I am sitting here at the camping site updating my blog. The girls are in their sleeping bags and I am having a lovely cup of coffee and relaxing after a great day. I decided to post some pictures of our beautiful Icelandic scenery again, I hope you enjoy it. We drove to Stykkisholmur on friday, the camping site here is quite nice. Today we got up early and we drove around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. The landscape here is very beautiful. We drove all the way up to Snaefellsjokull (the Snaefell glacier), it was quite stunning to see it so close. Then we went down to the seashore which is one of my favourite. I love watching and listening to the waves hitting the shore. We went to two beaches, one had the remnants of a trawler Emery that stranded in 1948, the other one is a favourite of mine with a lot of pebbles. We are returning home tomorrow and I´ll tell you more when I get back. Anyway, here are some pictures.
The Snaefellsjokull (glacier) in its glory
It is funny playing in the snow in June especially when the temperature is around 18°C.
Very close to the top, you can feel the power and energy coming from the glacier.
The water meets the snow and makes a path through
Strange looking rock formation. When travelling with the girls we always try to see “trolls” or other creatures out of the rock formations. In Iceland we have a lot of stories about trolls that didn´t get back home before the first rays of sunshine hit them and they turned into stones.
