This must be a record for me, I am blogging again so soon. Well, I am trying to make a regular appearance here again. Tonight I took part in the UFO Tuesday stitching at Jayne´s Attic BB again. I love those nights but somehow other things/thoughts have been keeping me away. But now I am back. I spent a part of the long weekend going through some old boxes of my stitching and found some things that I am quite ashamed to show as they have come so close to finishing and I´ve kept putting them away without finishing them. I am hoping to change this now.
What I decided to start working on for the UFO Tuesdays is a Santa by Bucilla. I think I bought this around 1985 or 1986. I´ve been stitching this on and off since I bought it. I love this piece and can´t wait to see it finished as a pillow with red back (yes, I can actually picture it in my living room next Christmas LOL). I have actually finished all the cross stitching on it and “only” have the backstitching left to do.
So, here it is in all its´ glory earlier tonight before I started working on the backstitching.
Well, 3 hours later doing backstitch and drinking a couple of cups of coffee to keep me going I think I can honestly say – I “REALLY, REALLY” do not enjoy stitching this project but I am going to try my patience with it and work on it every tuesday until it is finished. Believe me, I am quite optimistic about most things and try to see the good things in everything (a bit like Pollyanna – my favorite story since childhood) but this is way too much. I was so ready to toss it away when I looked at this after 3 hours and could hardly see any progress, maybe you see something else. Well, I see some progress but I don´t think it is worth 3 HOURS of stitching. Well, enough whining on my part, here is the picture taken after tonights session.
I am looking forward to stitching my routine again tomorrow night and I think I might finish this round for Under the Friendship Tree and I might just be back tomorrow night with a picture of the progress. I promise you there will be bigger difference than you have seen tonight. LOL
Do take care of yourselves and hope you have a wonderful day wherever you are. Hugs and cuddles from cold and windy Iceland.
