Here I am finally with an update on us here. I must admit I haven´t really felt like blogging much due to some personal reasons.
My mother has been sick more and less since September last year. It all started with an inflammation in her hip and she got a medicine to help with that as well as going to physiotherapy which really did her good. Soon after starting to take the medicine she showed some allergic signs. The skin peeled off the palm of her hands and the sole of her feet. It was terrible to see her. She immediately stopped taking the medicine and saw a doctor. By the time she also had terrible stomach pain also from the medicine. They ran some tests on her and decided to put her on some medicine for the stomach pain. Well, she really didn´t get any better and went back to the doctors again and again. This went on and on and we were getting quite frustrated that no doctor really seemed to care if she got cured or not. In April this had really got to the stage that she could hardly eat anything without throwing up or it going straight down. (Sorry to be graphic). In addition to that she had also lost 35kg (77 pounds) since September last year. Up until then she had mainly been seen by her GP about the problem but had been seen once by a specialist who did a gastroscopy on her in September. All he did was to prescribe another stomach medicine. Well since the start of this year she has twice asked her GP to refer her to a specialist but at both occasion he told her that she wasn´t ill enough to go and see a specialist. Well to cut a long story shorter, after an episode of blood in her stools she was finally referred to an gastro specialist who admitted her to hospital the same day he met her. He ran all the possible test he could on her and it turned out she has gastritis and colitis. He wanted her to stop taking all stomach medicines for two weeks as a test. Well, the two weeks are up today and she has an appointment with the gastro specialist again today. She hasn´t been feeling great, she has been a little better, she still hardly eats anything, continues to loose weight and just feels poorly. We´ll she what happens with the gastro specialist today. This story is very hard to believe that this is happening but it does. I´ve been quite worried about my mother for months now but I hope to have better news tonight.
Besides all this going on I´ve been on two weekend trips away from the family. Both trips were to the Westmann Islands. They were both lovely and I had great time.
Well, I´ll blog more later with stitching updates just wanted to let you know I am still here.
