We started off bright and early. There were quite a few boats that we passed on our way to Braunston. We had decided to make a stop there and take a walk in the village and visit the Canal Shop in Braunston. Runar and I had been there once before and we wanted to stop by again. We were quite lucky to find a nice mooring very close to the bridges. There were a lot of boats moored up at Braunston. The walk turned out to be pretty long as we really enjoyed the weather. It was sunny and warm. We called by at the shop, Runar bought me two cross stitch kits, both were narrowboat related. I can’t wait to get started on those. And we also got a small painting of a narrowboat and the canal and I got myself a lovely mug for my coffee. We then walked off into the village and stopped at the shop to do some grocery shopping and we also stopped by at the butcher shop to buy some meat for dinner. I decided to buy a jar of lemon curd to take home with me. I had been wanting to taste it for ages and decided to have a go. It tastes good on toast. 🙂 When we got back to the boat after our walk we were in no hurry to leave at once so we decided to make some pancakes for tea time. Runar made the batter and I baked the pancakes. Those were really delicious. After having some coffee and pancakes we left our mooring at Braunston. We were due to return the boat early next morning so we decided that we would go straight to the Wigrams Turn Marina and spend our last night there to give us enough time to get everything packed and ready before leaving the boat. So, we didn’t stop until we made the marina. We spent a nice quiet evening there, having lovely beef for dinner that we had bought at the butcher in Braunston. And then trying to pack everything into our suitcases. LOL That was a task. 🙂 Here are some pictures from today.
