We were up very early this morning as we had to vacate the boat before 9:30am. We had packed everything the night before so we just did some minor tidying up before leaving. We had a nice breakfast and then handed over the boat. We managed to get a big taxi to take us to Leamington Spa. It was the same driver that had taken us to Wigrams Turn Marina at the start of our holiday. He had left his business card with us and told us to give him a call when we were coming back. 🙂 We took the train back to London and had to change once again in Reading. Again we had to stand the whole way from Leamington Spa to London as the trains were packed with people. We were pretty tired upon arriving at Paddington Station but we managed to walk the short distance to our hotel which was only a few minutes walk from the station. We had never stayed in this hotel before. It is called St. David’s Hotel. The service was great and the hotel was clean and tidy and the breakfast lovely. I would stay there again when I go to London. We took the luggage to our room and left to do some sightseeing in London. We walked to Oxford Street but it was really crowded there so we quickly made our way down Regents Street, past Picadilly Circus and into St. James’s Park. It was really nice there watching the squirrels play in the trees, the beautiful flowers blooming and the lively birdlife. We walked through the park and made our way to Buckingham Palace. There was no sign of the Queen there, LOL so we made our way towards Marble Arch. We made it back to the hotel after the long walk and had a quiet night in front of the TV and ended up going very early to bed. I guess we really needed that. 🙂 Here are some pictures from today.
