Our last day of the holiday. We got up and had some breakfast at the hotel. Once that was finished we went to our rooms to finish packing our suitcases. Runar and I took our suitcases to the room of Anna and Gudrun Maria as we were to keep them there during the day. The hotel staff was very friendly and allowed us to keep all our suitcases in one of our room as we didn’t have our flight back to Iceland until the evening. Once we had packed everything we left for the day. We had decided to get a ticket and do a sightseeing tour around London in a open top bus. The weather stayed dry but it was a little windy and cold but it was nice all the same. We had a look at the sights from the bus and finally decided to get off the bus just after lunch to have something to eat. We got off close to Buckingham Palace and walked through St. James’s Park and to Trafalgar Square. There we found a nice restaurant called Garfunkel’s where we decided to have our lunch. We had some lovely food there. From there we walked across Leicester Square and up Regents Street where our next destination was the big toy store Hamleys. The girls had wished to go there and visit the Build a Bear Store. They had each of them got some money from my parents to spend buying something special. So each of them chose a bear and stuffed it up. When it was done they chose lovely clothes for their bears and got a birth certificate for them as well. Once we were done at the Build a Bear department at Hamleys it was time for us to get back to the hotel to pick up our luggage. Runar and I took a taxi with the girls while Anna and Gudrun Maria went by a bus. 🙂 We picked up our luggage and left the hotel walking to Paddington Station where we went by Heathrow Express to Heathrow Airport. We were very happy once we had checked out suitcases in and were able to wander off in the airport. Our flight was on time and we arrived in Iceland shortly after 11pm. We got home just after midnight very tired but happy after a nice holiday. Here are some pictures from today.
