Life has been pretty busy last week with a lot to do at work and Hjálmfríður Bríet recovering from her tonsils being removed. She is almost fully recovered now. Her throat is not as achy as before and she is slowly adding more food to her diet. She has to take it easy during next week, can’t go to gym classes at school and has to take extra good care of herself. She went back to school on thursday and friday and it went fine.
I have been stitching some and knitting too since you heard from me the last time. I finished off an mattress pincushion for the HOE mattress pincushion exchange. It is travelling across the big pont to the recipient so I can’t show you a picture of that but as soon as it gets home I’ll post a pic.
But I can show you a picture of what I stitched for Jen R. for the HOE Halloween Exchange. I stitched her a biscornu. The pattern is Hallowscornu by Barbara Ana. I really enjoy stitching her patterns and it was a fun stitching. I used a part of Barbara Ana’s Halloween Biscornu for the back. The biscornu was stitched on fabric dyed by Jayne Hall at Jayne’s Attic. I really love the way it turned out. Here are some pictures for you to look at.
Here is the front
I mentioned that I have also been knitting. I will be knitting quite a lot (hopefully) until Christmas. I have got a few small knitted Christmas gifts on the drawing board. I have finished a scarf and a hat for Hjálmfríður Bríet. She doesn’t know yet that it is for her but she did model it for me. Here is a picture of her.
I always make an advent calendar for the girls before Christmas. I both buy some small gifts and make something small for them. Then I wrap 24 small gifts for each of them and they get to open one small gifts every morning in December until Christmas comes. It is so much fun to watch them. The scarf and the hat will be in the packet this Christmas and I am going to make a pair of mittens and a pair of socks too for each of the girls. 🙂 So my next project will be a scarf and a hat for Friðbjörg Lilja. I might have time to get to the shop to buy some yarn today.
I really hope next week will be a little bit quieter and I can share some stitching updates with you all more regularly. I am going to use today to post on my blog all the lovely stitchy stash that I received for my birthday so be prepared for more posts from me.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
