Christmas celebration in Iceland starts on December 24th, for most people at 6 o’clock in the afternoon. Some people go to a Christmas mass at 6 o’clock, in my family we start by having nice dinner together at 6 o’clock. We had lovely dinner together just the 5 of us and when we had finished cleaning up after dinner it was finally time for the Christmas presents. The girls were really excited by all the packages under the three. They received lots of really nice gifts and enjoyed the evening. Rúnar gave me a beautiful gold bracelet and the girls gave me some stitchy stash. 🙂 I am enclosing a photo for you to see. 🙂
I had already ordered this package from Jayne’s Attic. Jayne usually offers a mystery Christmas package, so I had no idea what was included in this package other than it was some fabric and threads. I received a nice piece of evenweave dyed by Jayne and two pieces of Polstitches fabric (pink and blue). And some yummy colours of Dinky Dyes silk, quite a few Carrie’s threads and some Ozark Sampler threads and a couple more threads which I can’t remember the name of.
My parents and two brothers came over later in the evening for some hot chocolate and cakes. And then we spent the rest of the evening just chatting, the girls were playing with their new toys and we went to bed quite late after a really nice evening. We woke up pretty late this morning and just enjoyed the morning in pajamas being lazy. We were invited to late lunch at my parents house and we left to go there at 2 o’clock. We have just returned home, we had lovely time with my parents. I plan to spend the night stitching – I am going to continue with my rotation so it is the Quaker SAL for me tonight. I will post a picture for you when I have finished my time with it, it will probably happen tomorrow – we’ll have to see. 🙂
Hope you are having a nice evening. I am looking forward to tomorrow as I plan to have a lazy day, stitching, reading and watching TV and playing with my girls.
