The title says it…..I am home alone, at least for a couple of hours. Rúnar took the girls to the cinema to see a movie and the youngest one was allowed to go as the movie is ideal for her age. So, I am left here at home all alone, what will I do. 🙂
Well, to start with I am enjoying the peace and quiet. I can hear the sound of the washing machine humming in the background. And I can hear the sound of my breadmachine, it is kneading some dough for a couple of loafs of bread that I will pop into the oven as soon as the dough is ready. My gang will enjoy some freshly baked bread when they get back home from the cinema.
And in between I plan to enjoy updating my blog and reading some blogs and just doing whatever comes to mind. 🙂 I might even stitch some. 🙂
I am working on my rotation once again. I didn’t stitch a lot during the first half of december until Christmas. Life was just too busy, working full days and then preparing for Christmas. But I have enjoyed stitching again during the Christmas days. I spent better part of yesterday stitching and I managed to stitch what I wanted of the Quaker SAL so I have put it away now and have started the next slot in my rotation. But before I tell you all about my current project I wanted to show you a WIP picture of the Quaker SAL.
This is being stitched on a 32ct fabric called Cafe Mocha Flair dyed by Enchanted Fabric. The threads are Carrie’s Threads but I can’t remember what it is called. I think it looks just fantastic in real life, the colours are not right on the picture, blame it on the dark evening we have here. I think I will finish this project on the next round of my rotation.
Now I am stitching on a project called Warwickshire Ring by Classic Embroidery. Rúnar bought this for me as a gift when we were on our holidays in England this summer. This is the way we took on the boat this summer. And it shows the places that we visited. I am stitching this on the aida that came with the kit (not sure if it is a good idea – but we will see). I’ve been stitching on this for 3 hours and already fretting about all the confetti stitching, but I like this design a lot and want to see it hanging on my wall reminding me of the great holiday we had this summer, so I will continue but I will be happy once the 10 hour mark is up and I can change to the next project. 🙂 Don’t get me wrong I like confetti stitching but only for a short while at a time. 🙂
My plan for this evening is to stitch. We are watching the 3rd film from the Lord of the Ring series (Return of the King, I think it is called) and I’ll stitch while watching it. Tomorrow and Monday I am doing some secret stitching that I can’t share with you. Hopefully I can give you an update on the Warwickshire Ring, either tomorrow or next week.
Hope you are having a great weekend enjoying what you like to do. It was nice to have you over for a visit, please come back soon.
